Deep footed hammered silver-finish serving platter with a lotus accent, made in Lahore

Silver Lotus Deep Hammered Serving Platter

$93.00

Every big spread has one dish that carries the showpiece — the salad, the fruit, the thing brought out last and set down in the middle. This is built to be that dish. It's handmade in Lahore, the hammering catching light across its seventeen inches, a lotus — for purity...

A Note from Amara
The lotus appears in almost everything made by hand in Pakistan — in tilework, in embroidery, in the brass pieces my mother kept from her mother. It is always at the centre. This platter was designed the same way: the bloom holding everything, the hammered field around it giving it weight. Afzal shaped the surface by hand in our Lahore workshop. It takes the better part of a day.
