Every Maeraas piece is made by hand in Lahore, Pakistan. The brass and copper crafts of the old city have been practised for centuries — passed through families, refined through repetition. We work directly with artisans who carry that knowledge. The pieces are curated from Singapore, where Amara, the founder, is based.

Yes, entirely. Each piece is shaped and finished by hand — hammered, cut, engraved, cast. No machine finishing. No two are identical, and each one takes time.

Close, but not identical. Slight variations in texture, tone, and finish are inherent to handmade metalwork. This is not a defect — it is evidence of how the piece was made. The patina on handmade brass shifts depending on the batch of metal, the conditions in the workshop, and the hands that worked it.

Yes. Brass and copper darken naturally as they age — the surface develops a patina that many consider the most beautiful part of owning a handmade metal piece. If you prefer to maintain the original finish, wipe with a soft damp cloth regularly and use a brass polish occasionally. Keep the piece dry. Either way, it will outlast most things in your home.
