The Meaning of Maeraas

Maeraas is derived from the Urdu word Miras, (میراث), meaning Heritage or Legacy. It began as a purposeful project to bridge the gap between ancient artistry and the modern home. While our silhouettes are curated for a global aesthetic, our soul is rooted in the rhythmic pulse of the artisans.

Our Story

Our Story

Maeraas began with a trunk of heirlooms and a decade of questions.

My family’s journey from India to Pakistan was marked by heartache and hope, but they carried more than memories. They carried a treasure trove of brass and copper. Growing up surrounded by these pieces, I didn't just see decor; I saw a lifeline to a heritage that was as vibrant as it was fragile.

The Human by Design Philosophy

The Human by Design Philosophy

After ten years leading human-centric strategies in global HR, I saw a world becoming increasingly automated and sterile. I felt a deep calling to return to the "Human by Design", to reconnect the modern world I lived in with the slow, rhythmic pulse of the artisans I grew up admiring.

From Singapore to the Walled City

Today, Maeraas lives between two worlds. From my home in Singapore, I curate silhouettes for a global aesthetic. However, our heartbeat remains in Pakistan. We have built a dedicated studio where we partner directly with third-generation artisans. This intentional way of working allows every piece to be made with care, patience, and respect for the craft.

A Symphony of Ancient Crafts

We don't just "source" products; we steward a diverse lineage of nearly lost techniques.

The Fire

Ancient Lost-Wax and Sand Casting for heavy, honest forms.

The Rhythm

Hand-Hammering and Engraving that turn metal into a canvas.

The Detail

Delicate Needlework and Etching that require years of mastery to perfect.

The Modern Heirloom

Maeraas is not about scale or mass production. Most of our pieces are made in limited quantities, allowing them to remain thoughtful, personal, and rare. Every "craft scar" on our brass is a signature of human intent. We are here to ensure that these ancient techniques do not just survive the tide of change. They lead it.
