Floral and geometric patterns chased into the surface freehand by the naqash.

The markhor is our national animal, and almost no one puts it on the table — which is exactly why I wanted to. Three of them hold this bowl up with a quiet grace, cast and finished by hand in brass in Lahore. A little of the country, carried into the centre of a room.
